1. When did you first get interested in DVD and why?

Dad bought our first DVD player in 1999, because he must have the newest and best toy available. This philosophy has also clearly infused itself into me. Then when we got our first Dolby 5.1 amp and then a widescreen TV, I just had to get an awesome set-up to make my pals jealous. So now, here I am!

2. Did you ever expect DVD to become as popular as it has now?

Definitely. It was clear that at the time, consumers wanted something more for their money, something more permanent. Any new system would have to be digital, and computer-capable, and it came at the right time.

3. What are some of your favourite movies and some of your favourite DVDs?

Wow, where do I start? As a sci-fi freak, "Star Wars", "Independence Day", "The Matrix", "Back To The Future" and "Terminator" are among my very favourite movies. As a DVD package, movies and technically, my favourites would have to be: "Spirited Away", Indiana Jones, Fantasia Anthology, Lion King, and the Japanese R2 "Jurassic Park" Superbit which cost a small fortune.

4. Which 'not so good' DVDs would you never want ruining your collection?

Hmm. I suppose "Speed II", but it's too late... Something like "Mission To Mars" would never, EVER grace my DVD player, let alone my house.

5. Which DVD(s) not yet available are you looking forward to most being released?

Well, apart from the obvious ("Star Wars"), I am looking forward to TV fodder such as "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "Astro Boy".

6. Have you ever gone to extraordinary lengths to satisfy your DVD addiction?

IOf course. Because I am only a poor student, I have limited funds at my disposal which is hard when you are addicted to buying DVD's, especially at the cost and frequency they are released in the latter months of the year, but I would gladly buy a DVD and then starve for the rest of the week :-)
