1. When did you first get interested in DVD and why?

It was a long time ago and to tell you the truth I can't remember the exact reason. I just knew I had to have one.

2. Did you ever expect DVD to become as popular as it has now?

No. I thought it'd probably be just a bit more popular than laser discs were, boy was I wrong!

3. What are some of your favourite movies and some of your favourite DVDs?

Some of my favourite movies include: Princess Mononoke, Ring, Spirited Away, Dark Water, Castle in the Sky, Taxi, Grave of the Fireflies, Amores Peros, Bad Taste, Dead Alive (Braindead), Brotherhood of the Wolf. Some of my favourite DVDs include: Spirited Away. This disc is simply incredible and has, easily, the best video and audio (DTS ES 6.1) presentation in the history of DVDs. In fact I doubt it will ever be surpassed. Brotherhood of the Wolf Canadian edition is pretty awesome too.

4. Which 'not so good' DVDs would you never want ruining your collection?

The Haunting, boy did that suck, but it's in my collection anyway, go figure. Probably most big budget action films made in the last few years.

5. Which DVD(s) not yet available are you looking forward to most being released?

Quentin Tarantino's four films and Hideo Nakata's early work, Le Petit Pucet with English Subtitles, and Peter Jackson's The Frighteners with all the extras the laser disc got.

6. Have you ever gone to extraordinary lengths to satisfy your DVD addiction?

For sure! I've spent more than $100 on single, bare bones discs just because I like the film.
