Join The DVD Bits Team

Are you interested in becoming a part of the team that shapes the day to day running of DVD Bits? Below is all the information you need in how to best apply to become a 'DVD Bitter'.

We are always looking for dedicated, energetic and motivated people eager to participate in the operation of the site. It is a great opportunity to showcase your talents to the world while at the same time being part of a great team that delivers so much to the DVD community. It is important though that you are certain you want to do this and are willing to put the time and effort into it otherwise you are wasting everyone's time. So if you have some spare time each week and are interested in putting it to good use as a part of DVD Bits then read on. Note that the site is run by all staff as a hobby so these are all unpaid positions. Remuneration includes keeping all DVD merchandise reviewed and free DVDs for the non reviewer positions.

REVIEWERS
One of the favourite positions, you get to watch and review discs in advance of their release to the market and once you are finished with the reviews you get to keep them to yourself and add them to your DVD Library. All efforts are made to satisfy your preference of which DVD you'd like to watch although of course occasionally we all have to review one that may not be our cup of tea. To become a reviewer though you must satisfy the following requirements:

Minimum Equipment Requirements:
- DVD player with S-video or component connection
- 70cm TV either 4x3 or widescreen.
- AV receiver with Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 decoding and a full set of surround speakers including subwoofer.
Bonus: DVD Rom capability and anything else that exceeds the above minimum specifications.

You must also be willing to participate in other aspects of the site especially posting of news related material.

In addition to the above you must have good writing skills and must be able to write AT LEAST 1 review per week. While we often are very flexible, there is a schedule to keep and we cannot have reviewers taking weeks to complete one review.

If you satisfy all of the above then send us a sample review of a R4 DVD that you've written along with a description of your equipment.

NEWS REPORTER
If you are a news hunter that likes to visit many DVD websites on a frequent basis then we would love to hear from you! You will have staff access to the site and be able to post news items under your own name any time of the day or night. As a thank you for your great work you will receive free DVDs from time to time.

DATABASE ADMINISTRATION/ PROGRAMMING
If you have knowledge of MS Access database and ASP scripting then you are perfectly suited to this. Very little day to day work is required. If you feel that you can add some great new features to the site to improve function and interactivity you will be nicely rewarded with free DVDs of your choice.

WRITER
Interested in writing feature articles for DVD Bits? Then this is your chance to have your work read by thousands of visitors. You can write on any DVD related topic you like including traditional topics such as hardware reviews or 'how to' guides to help people with their purchases.

CONTRIBUTOR
Even if all you can contribute to the site is a review of your DVD player or an article written on a DVD related topic we would still love to hear from you.

So if you are ready to be part of the DVD Bits team in any shape or form email us and we'll get back to you very soon.
