1. When did you first get interested in DVD and why?

Well it was really a peer pressure thing I guess. Working in the IT industry which I believe is probably the biggest uptakers of new technology, all the cool people were getting into DVD's and the whole home theatre thing so I just followed along. This was probably about 1998 - 1999 or so. Since then its been a fun, and expensive, ride :)

2. Did you ever expect DVD to become as popular as it has now?

I definately did not think it would reach the height it has these days. Never did I imagine that you would walk into a Westfields Shopping Centre and be greated by a store like EzyDVD selling solely DVD's! I remember back in 1999 going around to the local sell-thru video stores (Central Video Warehouse and Videos Direct 2 U in Adelaide) and seeing thousands and thousands of video tapes with only a handful of DVD's to choose from... these two stores and most like them are now overrun with DVD's.

3. What are some of your favourite movies and some of your favourite DVDs?

4. Which 'not so good' DVDs would you never want ruining your collection?

The original R4 release of Starship Troopers, could they have done any worse? It is fitting that it recieved a re-release a couple years later, but still never in the glory that it should have been. I will admit that I own a few bad films on DVD, but I swear that's not my fault, they are review discs, not ones I purchased!... well mostly anyway ;)

5. Which DVD(s) not yet available are you looking forward to most being released?

The obvious, The Indy films, Star Wars, Disney animated classics... pretty much the same films that everyone else is waiting for! Come on studios, give it to us, you know everyone wants them. And none of this 'we are waiting for the right time to release them' stuff we always hear, right now is the right time!

6. Have you ever gone to extraordinary lengths to satisfy your DVD addiction?

I would not say extraordinary lengths, a fair bit of cash, and a fair bit of driving around the city when I want a specific title that's been released, is out of stock, but I want it NOW so drive for a couple hours to different stores looking for it (yeah yeah, I know there is a thing called a phone, but driving is soooo much more fun!. Oh yeah, I have also ignored my girlfriend a fair few times, she probably things that is extraordinary lengths and an important thing to mention :)
