Black and Decker 'Hot & Pop' popcorn maker
Review written by Scott Fagg on 28-Feb-1999

The popcorn maker is the final addition to any respectable home theater. Perfect for when the guests comment 'Gee, this sounds great, all you need now is popcorn!'

The unit is a hot air driven unit with a capacity to fill a large mixing bowl with popped corn in around 1 minute. No oil, butter or marge necessary, which makes for reasonably healthy popcorn I guess.

The unit is rated at 1200W but the conditions under which it achieves this are unspecified, no THD or frequency ranges given. Perhaps it is an class 'A' device and continually consumes that much power? Output when fully operational is about 74db at 1 metre (which leads me to believe this may actually conform to THX specifications .. ideal for home theater)

For the fashion conscious and those with the 'other half acceptance factor' issues it is available in a number of colours (red, green, blue, yellow). In fact my other half suggested the purchase!

A must have for the home theater buff. A recommended purchase.

RRP: $29.95

Power: 1200 watts.

Dimensions: Unknown.
