THE MOVIE

Have you ever heard of this film? Me either. And there's a reason for that. Get Well Soon isn't a great film. Infact, it's a terrible film. One wonders how Courtney Cox (Monica from TV's Friends) became involved in the project. Surely her credibility could have attracted a better project couldn't it?.

I'll give you a quick rundown of the plot. It's about an obnoxious talk show host (Vincent Gallo) from the 'Midnight with Bobby Bishop' show, who's life is going down hill since he split with his ex-girlfriend Lily (Cox). It seems that Lily is not over Bobby, and the two try to work things out. That's about it. Sounds pretty good eh!?!

I find it almost impossible to recommend this film to anyone, as it really has nothing going for it. It's boring, and just not funny. Maybe die-hard Cox fans will want to check it out, but be warned.

THE TRANSFER

Video:

Get Well Soon is presented in an aspect ratio of 1.78:1, and is anamorphically enhanced. Well there is little to complain about here. Being a very recent film (2001), it should be of a fairly high quality. The quality of the print is not immaculate, but this transfer should please any fan of the film.

Audio:

The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Surround. For the purposes of this review, I listened to the film in Dolby Digital 5.1. With barely any use of the surrounds and subwoofer, a 2.0 mix would have been sufficient for this film. Everything is clear and audible, and there are no audio sync problems. Again, all you fans out there should be satisfied.

THE EXTRAS

Theatrical trailer only.

SUMMARY

Well, I really became quite bored with Get Well Soon, and cannot understand how Courtney Cox could participate in such a film. I'm sure most people out there haven't even heard of the film, and it is sure to remain unheard of. The DVD should meet all expectations.
